Ronald Franz- He was in the army when his wife and son were killed in a car crash by a drunk driver. He then became an alcoholic and became a foster father for many kids. When he picked up Chris, he took an extreme liking to him. He admired his way of life. He liked Chris so much that he offered Chris his family name when he was seeing him for the last time. Chris wrote him a letter saying that Ron should live the way he has and he will become much happier. He took Chris’s advice and lived in the desert for a few years. When he found out that Chris had died in Alaska, he was so affected that he began drinking again and hoped that it would kill him.
Borah- She was Wayne’s on and off girlfriend and took a liking to Chris. She had him over for dinner and found him very intelligent and interesting to talk to. Chris did not have so much of an impact on her as she had an impact on Chris. She, according to Chris’s sister was the only girl who had ever gotten Chris to dance with her.
